Abstract:
OAC and IPLB have divulged the second series of studies integrated within
the On Reading programme, in collaboration with Portuguese universities
which have pursued localised research projects and fieldwork. As with the
first series of these studies, the objective is to identify young people’s
reading habits in the municipalities under analysis and evaluate the role of
agents and institutions involved in the reading process.
The aim of this study is to provide empirically validated data on the
reading habits and practices of young people in two municipalities within
the district of Setubal (Almada and Seixal), aged between 14 and 20, and
attending secondary school education.
An analysis is also provided on the objectives, frequency and importance of
reading habits in the context of other leisure time activities.
