Abstract:
Considering the need to develop localised studies on reading practices and
operational models of public libraries, OAC and IPLB decided to implement a
research programme, involving final-year graduates of social sciences
courses in Portuguese universities.
The aim of this study is to provide a comparative overview of the common or
specific characteristics of the series of research works published in this
collection, intended to foster careful and systematic reading of such works.
