Abstract:
OAC and IPLB have
agreed on the need to develop localised studies on reading habits and
operational models of public libraries, which gave rise to the On Reading
programme, now presenting its third series of results.
The main objective of this study, undertaken in the Leiria Municipal Library,
is to analyse the reading habits and other characteristics of the library’s
users, and identify the dynamic relationship between reading and new
information technologies. The role played by the library in the formation
and implementation of reading habits, especially of young people, is also
addressed in this volume.
