Abstract:
This
case-study - one of the six integrated in Cascais-Culture Programme -
develops in two main lines. One is related with the characteristics of
Cascais Municipal Museums: their history, human resources, expenditure that
they represent to the Municipal Council and activities - especially those
promoted by their educative services. The other line is related with the
visitors of those museums. The survey analysis deals with aspects like:
visitors’ sociological profile, conditions and motivations of attendance,
visit recurrence and their evaluation by the surveyed visitors.
Due to the temporary enclosure of one of the municipal museums - Museu da
Música Portuguesa - the visitors’ survey was applied, in this case, to the
visitors of "Michel Giacometti, caminho para um Museu" exhibition organized
by that Museum, being the results analysed in a specific chapter.
