Abstract: This case-study - one of the six integrated in Cascais-Culture Programme - begins with the Festival framing in Cascais cultural dynamics and in the strategies of local cultural policies. Then, it characterizes the Festival along of its editions and demarks the different phases of the Festival’ trajectory. The event’ institutionalization process and its actual programmatic, promotional and organizational options are also referred.
The last chapter presents the results of the survey to the Festival’ audiences considering four topics: spectators’ profile (that includes the construction of an event’s fidelity typology); relation of this specific cultural practise with other cultural practises and consumptions, its frequency and intensity (that includes the construction of a typology of Jazz consumption); motivations and modalities of the event’s attendance; evaluation of the Festival by surveyed spectators.
