Abstract:
The main objectives of this case-study - one of the six integrated in
Cascais-Culture Programme - are: 1. the characterization of cultural
associative offer, according to their geographical location, the relative
importance of cultural activities, their longevity, the number of associates;
2. the function modalities of cultural associations, according to their
activity plans, relationships with other associations and with Cascais
Municipal Council: 3. the organization of activities, according to their
frequency, logistics involved, costs, professional profile of their
corporate bodies.
A Survey to the cultural associations and interviews to their directors
provided the information of those objectives. In the analysis of cultural
activities three sets of activities are highlighted: traditional
celebrations, performative and children's activities. The associative
directors’ difficulties and expectations are also considered in this
publication.
