Abstract:
Considering the need to develop localised studies on reading practices and
operational models of public libraries, OAC and IPLB decided to implement a
research programme, involving final-year graduates of social sciences
courses in Portuguese universities.
This study consists of a survey of the reading habits and practices of young
people (14-18 years old) attending secondary schools and living in Coimbra
or neighbouring municipalities, offering an in-depth analysis of the various
facets of young people’s reading patterns.
